I’m sorry for Serena, but where she may be used to “special” treatment because of who she is, most of us are denied tables when we don’t have a reservation. More likely, we don’t even try to bring our children to posh restaurants, rather going where they can be served very quickly. Sorry Serena, but no sympathy here.

Great advice! I will say Cincinnati has really bounced back as an airport in the past few years. It’s not LAX or ATL or DFW. But, it has a few non stop flights to Europe. It’s a very convenient airport to fly in and out of (most of the time).

Somebody didn’t know who she was… they missed a chance to get a good review of their restaurant. AND, yes, reserve your table, not just in Paris, not just in France. We almost always reserve. Now if all you do is fast food, well shame on you! Smiling. Reserve in France.

Good for you! I hope you left Duke’s a negative review on TripAdvisor, Google and Yelp. I would suggest writing a very nice letter to their corporate office or management. In every situation like that, I’ve always had a really nice response and a nice credit for a future meal.

And yes, you scored by going to Geoffrey’s, that’s one of the most romantic restaurants, with an absolutely stunning view! One tip that might help, if you are in any customer service situation where you think that somebody might cop a ‘tude, discreetly turn on the voice recorder on your phone and record the interaction. I’ve done this many times, and it provides proof that you can send to the president of the company.

I think we are seeing gen Z moving into “adult spaces.” They have never been told “NO” so they don’t take instructions well. They especially don’t take orders from police well. I have seen 2 videos where police had to strap out of control people into straight jackets. Both, gen Z females.
