I would start with the Chase Sapphire Preferred. It’s the first travel card we recommend to readers. It has a great signup and easily redeemable points.

I prefer to earn travel rewards that I can transfer to multiple travel partners like Chase Ultimate Rewards, Capital One points, Amex MR, and Citi ThankYou points. The ability to transfer your points gives you more options when it comes time to book an award.

I found it very informative. I’m new to the credit card world so there’s a lot of ground to cover before I make a decision… I was wondering, are you familiar with the Discover it Miles credit card and if so, what are your thoughts on it?
Thank you

It’s how I travel for free and haven’t paid for a flight in over 10 years. I have the majority of the cards on this list (actually wrote on in-depth blog post on how I am able to get my fee down to $0 and make money by owning several premium credit cards: AMEX Platinum, Citi Prestige, Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant, Chase Sapphire Reserve.) So don’t let the high fee steer you away from cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve. The next card I’m looking into is the Capital One card you mentioned. Thanks for sharing your insight as always!
