Last week while I was going through my Twitter feed (I’m @JohnnyJet), an image caught my eye. It was of two female pilots, Captain Wendy Rexon and First Officer Kelly Rexon, who were piloting a Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 from Los Angeles to Atlanta. The most remarkable thing about the scene in the photo wasn’t that the two pilots were part of an all-female flight crew, but that they are, believe it or not, mother and daughter! I retweeted the photo and over 340 people liked it.

A few days ago, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution wrote about the pilots and created the above video, noting that “the photo was taken by Dr. John R. Watret, the chancellor of Embry-Riddle Worldwide, a world-renowned aeronautical university, who just happened to overhear that there was a mother-daughter flight crew.”
