My hope is that this coronavirus resource page for travelers will help you make more informed decisions regarding your travel plans, help you get your money back, and/or help you find the latest travel and coronavirus news:

Fortunately, most airlines are now offering waivers for tickets purchased on or before March 2. However, if your airline is not offering a waiver and they didn’t cancel your flight and you don’t want to go then I’d would wait until a couple days before to see if the flight canceled and then call to get your money back or a travel voucher.

Thank, Johnny, I always appreciate your informative posts. I would add the additional cruise lines in the luxury sector, and/or expedition lines as well. Oceania, SilverSea, Regent, Seabourn for example. Also, for the South Pacific, a link for French Polynesia which is requiring a medical certificate to travel no older than 5 days from One’s Doctor, before being allowed to board a flight to Papeete.

Thanks for creating the COVID-19 info page. I just forwarded you email out to family, friends, and some of the workers at the California State Railroad Museum. (in Sacramento California). FYI, the museum has added more hand sanitizer stands throughout the 3 floor museum. We do a handcar program for 4th graders studying California history, and now wipe down the equipment before every class.
    Stay safe.

Thanks for this resource. However some of this information is very outdated adn incorrect. You should remove it as it may mislead people.

Johnny Jet- With Covid-19 air travel is out for me. What are your thoughts on train travel on Amtrak in a sleeper car roomette or even a bedroom? My wife and I want to get out but want to be safe. Your thoughts?

      Hi Johnny (nice name!)

It’s a difficult call. Planes have HEPA filters so it’s probably safer as I’m not sure if trains do. Also on a plane it’s a much shorter exposure. We can do some research and do a post on it.
