Short bio: Left high school in 2016, lived in Japan for six months, caught the travel bug and didn’t look back. Since then, have started my own travel blog (Gaijin Crew) and have been learning how to make a living online to supplement my travel habit.

How often do you fly? It really varies.

How many countries have you been to? 16

How many continents have you been to? 3

Earliest travel memory: Going on a big family holiday to Florida when I was four.

Favorite American city: Got to be New York!

Favorite international city: Tokyo.

Least favorite country: Haven’t found it yet.

Friendliest people in the world: I’ve met really awesome people from all over the world.

Favorite airline: Etihad (economy almost felt like business class).

Aisle or window: Window because a) it acts as a pillow and b) you don’t need to get up whenever your neighbours need to use the toilet.

Favorite international airport: Tokyo Narita because they have an entire room dedicated for sleeping (and it’s free).

Favorite hotel: The Prince Palace Hotel in Bangkok was pretty nice!

Favorite National Park: Bryce Canyon, Utah.

Favorite fruit: Banana (especially mixed with toffee), strawberry, passion fruit or mango.

Favorite food: Karaage (Japanese fried chicken), anything banoffee-flavoured or just a really good sandwich.

Least favorite food: Cheese, except when it’s on pizza (I know I’m weird).

Drink of choice (in the air and on the ground): A mocktail if I’m feeling fancy or just orange juice or water.

Favorite travel movie(s): Chef (I think this might just be my favourite “movie” movie)!

Favorite travel show(s): Dark Tourist.

Top 3 favorite travel newsletters/magazines/blogs: Gaijin Crew (of course), Nomadic Matt and The Broke Backpacker.

5 things you bring on a plane: A million downloaded podcasts, my travel playlist, earphones, kindle and my notebook.

What do you always seem to forget? Chargers or my toothbrush.

What do you like least about travel? Sorting visas and documentation.

Worst travel moment: Almost getting arrested in Vietnam (luckily our Airbnb host came and rescued us).

What’s your dream destination? New Zealand or Ecuador at the moment (but it changes a lot).

Best travel tip: Travel doesn’t have to be expensive. There are so many ways to save money and travel the world on a budget that anyone can do it. I’ve written a complete starter’s guide to travelling on a budget for anyone interested. If I can do it, I’m sure you can as well!
